Bullying is purely the most taunting and hurtful act that is going around in the 20th centuary.
This is ranging in the areas of kids being 11-16 But it can also affect anyone, young and old in lot's of different ways.

Bullying can be prevented and stopped. I am going to write about some facts and points of Bullying, how to help and what to do if you or your child is being bullied.


What Is Bullying?

Bullying is when someone keeps doing something or saying something to gain power other the other person. 'Bullying can take many forms that you may not know about, this is including:

  • Mental Abuse- making threats, excluding someone socially, spreading rumours, lying and name calling ( the most common form of bullying)
  • Physical Abuse- hitting, punching, nipping, kicking, biting, pushing and shoving.
  • Stealing damaged, or another childs property.
  • Cyber Bullying- (This form has became high rated in the last couple of years.) This is believed to take place more commenly with girls. Places Cyber bullying takes place the most : Texting, Facebook, Email, MSN, Twitter, My space (Social Networking on the Internet) 'The use of electronic means to torment, threaten, harass, humiliate, embarrass or otherwise target another.'

How common is Bullying?
Research on the internet and documentaries say 10 out of 15 percent of pupils are bullied at least once a week, over 50 percent of pupils will experience being bullied.

Signs of Bullying

Your child may not tell you that he/she is being bullied, but there are some common signs:

  • Mood changes- Becoming withdrawn, quiet, being agressive with siblings or generally bad-tempered.
  • 'Losing' dinner money or posessions.
  • Physical: cuts, bruises, torn clothes.
  • Insomnia or Anxiety.
  • Changes in friendships and deterioration in schoolwork.
  • If you're child doesn't want to leave the house of finds a reason not to go to school.
  • Loss in confidence

What to do if you're child is being Bullied?

Talk to him/her and reassure them they have done the right thing to tell you about it, ask them questions:
'What did you do today?'
'What did you like about today?'
'What didn't you liek about today?'
'Who did you play with?'
etc...

Meet with the childs teacher asking them how your child is with the other childeren, and raise issues of conflict, ask them what would be the best way to sort it out. If the bullying is happening outside of school, talk to the other childs parents.

In the end

'Coping with Bullying can be difficult, Stay strong, stand you're ground and don't let anyone get you or your child down.

Help fight against bullying and do something about it. Don't be afraid!

I agree with you too. We people in the society have to put a stop to this nonsense. Clearly you have a interesting subject.
